P-valley Has Brought Something Different For You

Katori Hall developed the American drama television series P-Valley. The series is based on Hall's play Pussy Valley and follows a group of people who work at a Mississippi Delta strip joint. Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, and Elarica Johnson feature in the film. It debuted on Starz on July 12, 2020, and two weeks later, it was renewed for a second season. And the happy news is P-Valley has gotten positive reviews and has been nominated for GLAAD Media Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, TCA Awards, and NAACP Image Awards.

The story revolves around the life of staff at The Pynk, a strip club in the fictional city of Chucalissa, Mississippi. After being shopped around to many networks, P-Valley, a television version of Katori Hall's play Pussy Valley, was initially put into development at Starz in August 2016. On November 26, 2018, the network announced that the adaptation has received a series order, with Chernin Entertainment producing and Karena Evans directing the first episode. The first season's eight episodes were directed entirely by women.

The show aired on July 12, 2020, and on July 27, 2020, it was renewed for a second season. Season two will consist of 10 episodes, with filming beginning in June 2021. Although no specific date has been set, it is likely to be released in 2022.

Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, Shannon Thornton, and J. Alphonse Nicholson were cast on November 26, 2018, with Evans playing Mercedes and Annan playing Uncle Clifford, with Thornton and Nicholson serving as season regulars.  Parker Sawyers was cast as Andre Watkins, Elarica Johnson as Autumn Night, and Harriett D. Foy as Patrice Woodbine on February 20, 2019. Diamond was cast as Tyler Lepley and Corbin Kyle was cast as Dan J. Johnson on March 19, 2019. Isaiah Washington was cast in a recurring role on April 24, 2019.

Brandee Evans Played the role of Mercedes Woodbine

She is an actress and former choreographer from the United States who is best known for her starring role in the Starz drama series P-Valley. Evans was born in the city of Memphis in the state of Tennessee. Her mother has multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. Prior to becoming an actress, she was a high school English teacher. She began her acting career in films like Beyond the Lights (2014) and TV miniseries like The New Edition Story and The Bobby Brown Story, where she played minor roles.

Nicco Annan Played the role of Uncle Clifford

He is an actor, dancer, and choreographer from the United States. He is most recognized for his role as Uncle Clifford in the Starz drama series P-Valley, which is based just on Katori Hall play Pussy Valley and in which Annan played the lead character.

Elarica Johnson Played the role of Hailey Colton / Autumn Night

She is an English actress and model best known for her role in P-Valley as Hailey (aka Autumn Knight).  Johnson also featured as Juliette Durand in the film A Discovery of Witches.

Parker Sawyers Played the role of Andre Watkins

Is an actor from the United States. His first main part was in the film Southside With You, in which he played a teenage Barack Obama. He also appears as Mr. Lee in Don't Hang Up. In the BBC production World on Fire, he plays Albert Fallou, a Parisian jazz artist. He is the son of James Sawyers, a teacher and administrator, and Paula Parker-Sawyers (née Means), who served as deputy mayor of Indianapolis from 1989 to 1991.

Tyler Lepley played the role of Diamond

Is an American actor best known for playing Benjamin “Benny” Young on Tyler Perry's prime-time soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots, the first scripted television series to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Lepley was found by a producer in a boxing gym three months after he moved to Los Angeles, and he was encouraged to audition. He landed a starring part in the indie horror film Slumber Party Slaughter as a result of that meeting.
