Owen Wilson Looks Like Bob Ross In Upcoming Paint Trailer!

Owen Wilson, a well-known actor, has released a film in which he plays a painter who looks strikingly like Bob Ross.

Paint, starring Wilson, 54, as Vermont public television celebrity and painter Carl Nargle, whose reputation is endangered when a younger painter starts broadcasting her own show, had its first teaser trailer released on Wednesday by IFC Films.

Carl's impact on his audience is demonstrated in the teaser, which includes fans watching from the studio audience as he records episodes and viewers at home and in bars.

As the trailer shows, the painter, who seems to be inspired by the late PBS host of The Joy of Painting, enjoys his level of fame in Vermont until another artist, Ambrosia (Ciara Reneé), starts her own program, Paint with Ambrosia, which upends the public television painting environment, leading Carl to even deface several of his own paintings in the aftermath.

Synopsis: “Carl is confident he has it all” after getting “a signature perm, custom vehicle, and fans hanging on his every stroke,” until “a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.”

In November, a first-look shot from IFC Films' Paint was revealed, revealing Wilson in costume and sporting the same iconic hairstyle as Ross (who passed away in 1995). During the epidemic, the artist's PBS series, which initially aired from 1983 through 1994, gained even more attention.

Arianna Bocco, president of IFC Films, was quoted as saying, “We are happy to finally collaborate with the unlimited and versatile talent of Owen Wilson, as he effortlessly brings Carl Nargle's character to life from a brilliant writing and direction by Brit McAdams,” and that quote was cited by Deadline.

A quotable comedy classic and we hope audiences of all ages are ready for a lot of laughs and a lot of heart, is what Bocco said the film Paint might become.

McAdams penned the script and directed the film, inspired by a 2010 script submitted to The Black List. Paint also features Bridesmaids Wendi McLendon-Covey, Barry's Stephen Root, Lusia Strus, and Lucy Freyer, as well as Wilson and Reneé.
