Overwatch 2 Season 2: Release Date, New Map, Battle Pas, Skin

Overwatch 2, Blizzard's team-based first-person shooter sequel, has finished its first season. Despite a difficult period plagued by problems, roster changes, and a barrage of community criticism, the game has remained remarkably robust.

Now that the difficulty of a new game launch is behind them, the Blizzard team is hard at work getting the upcoming season ready for plans. Here are all of the Season 2 specifics for Overwatch 2, including when it will begin, battle system upgrades, and a new hero.

When Does Overwatch 2 Season 2 Begin?

The inaugural season of Overwatch 2 will end on December 6, at which point Season 2 will begin. Players should expect servers to remain down for some time during the update, while no official timing has been specified.

The weekly reset, on the other hand, is usually held on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. So Eastern is a safe bet. Season 2 will run around nine weeks, based on the length of Season 1. That means Season 2 might last until the first week of February.

What Can We Expect From Overwatch 2 Season 2?

Ramattra, the next Tank hero in Overwatch 2, is the focus of the Season 2 update. This Omnic, which was first introduced at the OWL Grand Finals, may be familiar to veteran players. Ramattra emerged as an unknown villain in the 2019 Storm Rising event.

This character can fight in two different modes, the conventional Omnic form, and the more aggressive Nemesis form. In the first, Ramattra takes on a more defensive role, shielding his teammates while doing poke damage from a distance. The second mode, on the other hand, transforms him into a far more significant force as he charges into battle.

Ramattra, like Kiriko in Season 1, will not be immediately available to all players. This Tank hero will be unlocked in the Season 2 Battle Pass at Tier 55. You can, however, pay a charge for the premium Battle Pass bundle, which grants quick access.

Mysterious New Map

While we don't know where we'll be going in Season 2, we did get a sneak peek at the new map in Ramattra's gameplay trailer. It's placed in a snowy mountain monastery loaded to the brim with Omnic iconography, similar to Nepal, a map that's already in Overwatch 2.

Both teams may be seen fighting on top of what appears to be an Omnic in a meditative stance, which does not appear on any of the current Nepal maps. However, because nothing in the trailer indicates what kind of objective is there on the level, we can't be certain which game mode this map will contain.

Season 2's All-New Skins And Cosmetics

Overwatch Season 1 introduced over 30 new skins, including one Mythic skin for Genji. Blizzard has already stated that each new season would contain an epic skin for one of the heroes. The second season will likely have the same number of skins as the first.

Some will be included with the battle pass, while others will be available in the store. It is also important to remember that the Winter Wonderland event should take place during the second season. As a result, we can probably expect some skins that fit the winter theme.

It is unknown which hero will receive the epic skin, but it is likely that it will not be another damaged hero, but rather a tank or supporter. Make sure to get your hands on a free legendary reaper skin before Season 2 of Overwatch launches!

Season 2 Battle Pass for Overwatch

The Season 2 Battle Pass will offer the typical selection of cosmetic goods and some extra incentives for those who grind their way through. There's a lot to unlock, from the aforementioned Mythic Skin to Ramattra in Tier 55.
