One Piece Film: Red is the fifteenth One Piece film, and fans rave about it. One Piece Film: Red, announced at the celebration of One Piece's 1000th episode, is now in development.
Because of several factors, 2022 appeared to be another One Piece film year. The release of the past One Piece films shows a distinct pattern to the series' release schedule.
One Piece Film: Strong World was released in 2009, followed by One Piece Film: Z, released just three years later in 2012.
One Piece Film: Gold was released in 2016, four years after the first film, and One Piece: Stampede was released in 2019, barely three years after the second film.
Given that the 25th anniversary of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will occur in 2022, it seemed pretty apparent that a new film would be released to honor the event. The fans' suspicions were confirmed on November 20, 2021.
Here's all you need to know about the next One Piece Film: Red, which is now in production and has everyone buzzing with anticipation.
What Is One Piece Film: Red About?
Even though the primary narrative of One Piece Film: Red has not yet been released in full, the brief teaser that fans were treated to during the film's introduction provided enough information to piece together the film's events.
The Straw Hat Pirates will attend an event, as seen in previous One Piece films. This time, it looks to be a music festival that is the intended destination.
Working with the Film Red crew, Eiichiro Oda expressed his desire to have an important part played by a female character in the film. According to several reports, this lady has flaming red hair and seems to be an inhabitant of Sky Island.
According to the primary visual, she's also a singer since her voice is described as “almighty” throughout the clip. Speaking of red hair, the enigmatic Red-Haired Shanks will be appearing in a film for the first time shortly.
It was eventually revealed that Shanks' scar could be seen on the D in the title logo, and director Eiichiro Oda stated that Shanks would appear in the film later on.
Although it appears that the girl with the red hair is connected to Shanks, fans will have to wait to find out what kind of relationship they genuinely have with one another.
Who Is Working On One Piece Film: Red?
One of the most often asked questions by One Piece fans when it comes to any One Piece film is whether Oda will be appearing in it or not. It has already been announced that Eiichiro Oda will have a role in One Piece Film: Red, as previously reported.
He has already been announced as the film's producer as well as the film's supervisor. Even thoOda has had many One Piece films in the past; this is just the second time he has taken on the producer role after One Piece Film: Strong World.
According to the crew members working on One Piece Film: Red, Eiichiro Oda's engagement in the film is more than ever before, surpassing even his involvement in Strong World, which was previously released.
Except for Oda, the remainder of the One Piece Film: Red crew is unquestionably excellent.
The film is directed by Goro Taniguchi, who also stars in it. Taniguchi has previously worked extensively on the Code Geass series. He most recently acted as the Director and Storyboard artist for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, which was released in 2015.
It turns out Taniguchi isn't a stranger to Eiichiro Oda's universe, having previously worked on the first One Piece special, “One Piece: Defeat The Pirate Ganzak,” among other projects.
Tsutomu Kuroiwa is the writer for One Piece Film: Red, and he has previously worked on One Piece Film: Gold and its unique, One Piece: Heart of Gold, as well as other One Piece films.
The remainder of the cast and crew for the film has not yet been announced. A sneak preview of the character designs for the film was released during Jump Festa 2022, and it looks like Masayuki Sato is again in charge of the project.
Toei Animation will undoubtedly bring the finest of its employees to Film Red, and there's no doubt that the film will look incredibly stunts.

Is One Piece Film: Red Canon?
Given that Oda's involvement in a One Piece film is more significant than ever, it's no surprise that fans are questioning whether Film Red is canon or non-canon. To put it another way.
One Piece Film: Red isn't a canonical work. At the time, Eiichiro Oda preferred to deal with the main tale in his manga, which meant that the movies were just for the delight of the fans and had no link to the main storyline.
However, this does not rule out the possibility that Film Red would include fragments of significant scenes from the One Piece canon. Several months before the manga version of One Piece: Stampede was published, the character “Laugh Tale” was given the name “Final Island.”
At the same time, a brief dialogue between Roger and Rayleigh was included in this film, and this exchange became part of Chapter 968 months after it was initially released.
Given that Shanks will appear in One Piece Film: Red, fans might expect a similar situation to play out in this film. It is very feasible that Oda may provide the movie crew with nuggets of material from the One Piece canon that they will be able to include in the script.
When Is One Piece Film: Red Going To Release?
According to the official website, the film One Piece: Red will be released in Japan on August 6, 2022. There is currently no information available about the film's worldwide release date.
Fans are hoping that the film's worldwide distribution will not be too far behind the initial release, as was the case with previous films such as One Piece: Stampede and the movie that came before it.
Nonetheless, One Piece is celebrating its 25th anniversary in grand style. With Oda's involvement and an incredible team to bring his vision to life, as well as the appearance of some of the series' most beloved characters, such as Shanks, Film Red may be the best movie ever made.
