Oddballs is an offbeat and interesting show that has won viewers over with its original plot and eclectic characters. Many viewers of the second season were left wondering what happened in the final episode. We'll go into the details of what happened at the end of Season 2 of Oddballs and try to shed some light on the happenings.
The Setup: Recap of Oddballs Season 2
Before we can dive into the explanation of season 2 of Oddballs, let's quickly recap the events leading up to it. In the premiere of season 2 of Oddballs, James decides to prove to the lemming people that they will follow the herd if there is enough buzz about anything.
After making a bet with Echo, he writes a musical about a rapping Benjamin Franklin but loses his cool when the crowd misinterprets his intentions as humor and boos him offstage. Mr. McFly assigns students to form groups and care for their “baby,” or boxes of flour, and the misadventures continue from there.
Max dumps James and teams up with Acorn, leaving James in a state of bewilderment. Max knows well that James is about to screw this up, too. While Max and James make up in the end, McFly sabotages Max's “baby” by not delivering on his false promise to provide a pizza party for the class.
Later, he's caught red-handed and has to pay up. When James discovers a golf cart in the trash heap, he names it “Dumpy” and rides it to school instead of the school bus. His tolerance for carpooling quickly dwindles, and after Dumpy is wrecked, he and Max are back on the school bus.
James fears for his life as he tries to use Echo's body swap technology in order to avoid a fight with Stuart after school because of how bravely he stood up to the bully. Unluckily, this opens a new and unexpected can of worms, and by the end of the whole thing, James is beaten up.
After James is misidentified as a replacement teacher and accused of stealing candy from the staff room, he gets into an argument with Mr. McFly, who resents the fact that a newcomer is getting all the attention he has worked so hard for but has never received.
James will soon be tasked with giving an unprepared oral report. When the assignment's stakes get too high, he fabricates an entire story about a hidden treasure, setting off a citywide manhunt.
The old mayor, an adorable puppy with a whole lot of hatred & a desire for vengeance, becomes furious when James begins campaigning to have Max elected as the new Mayor of Dirt. Toasty, who has returned feeling reenergized & armed with a sophisticated exoskeleton, a new name, and a great deal of animosity towards James and Max, is another with a desire for vengeance.
His long-lost father finally wins him over twice, but then Max blows his top by stuffing a round loaf of bread into him. James moves the sentient chip from Toasty to a waffle maker and calls it “Waffly.” Echo sends a time traveler back to the future by kicking him in the head as a warning.

Oddballs Season 2 Ending Explained…
What Occurs With Toasty?
At the finale of the second season of Oddballs, Toasty blows his top after Max stuffs a piece of round bread—a shape he finds repulsive—into him. At that time, Toasty has come around to accepting him and James, but it's too late, and the Toasty arc concludes with a great subversive gag.
Season 2 finds Toasty back in his teenage, freckled, and rebellious phase, intent on exacting revenge on his fathers after being put through the wringer by James and Max by being thrown in the dump.
He tries to kill James several times, but near the end of the final battle, he changes. He calms down and hugs James as Max, who doesn't know Toasty has changed, stuffs a round loaf of bread inside him, causing him to blow up.
Is Waffley the New Toasty?
James removes the chip that gave Toasty his sentience survival from his damaged body and places it in a waffle maker, proving that Toasty is not quite dead.
When James and Max's new appliance comes to life and they meet him, they are so overjoyed that they name him “Waffly” before realizing that the new addition has evil-looking eyes.
It's possible that Waffly is an entirely new sentient appliance, with the same intellect as Toasty but no memories of the previous bearer of the sentient chip, therefore it's hard to say whether or not it shares the same consciousness as Toasty.
What Will James Decimate in the Future?
Echo, who is desperately attempting to preserve the world, continually warns James that he will help hasten its destruction. She also wants to make sure that processed foods don't go away in the future, but James makes it impossible for her to do so.
After Max and James leave with Waffly in the final episode of season 2 of Oddballs, a time traveler from the future emerges in a portal and explains they are here to say hello. Harmony has traveled back in time with a warning.
Echo interrupts Harmony as she is ready to tell what James is going to ruin in the future and kicks her back through the portal, saying that she hates spoilers. It's not entirely obvious what James's next blunder will be, but we can be sure that there will be plenty of mayhem in the next season of Oddballs.
