When the magic-based action-comedy Now You See Me appeared in theatres in the early summer of 2013, no one knew what to expect.
Still, thanks to a great script and a charismatic cast that included Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco, the film's mix of magic and chaos was an instant hit with audiences, bringing in well over $300 million at the box office around the world. Not surprisingly, the people at Lionsgate Films moved quickly to make a second movie with the same cast.
Except for Fisher, who was replaced by Lizzy Caplan's new character because she was pregnant, the reunion of The Four Horsemen and their ominous bosses, The Eye, on the big screen in 2016 was just as much fun and just as profitable as the first movie, with Now You See Me two making about the same amount of money as the first movie. The sequel also added new and exciting things to the world of Now You See Me.
This left the door wide open for a third movie. Now You See Me three was given the go-ahead while NYSM2 was still in theatres, and Benedict Cumberbatch was already set to play the bad guy in the new movie.
Plans for that highly-anticipated sequel did a full-on David Copperfield, though, and we haven't heard anything about it in years. Lionsgate seems ready to get their magical house of cards in order, and it looks like the next movie in the Now You See Me franchise is finally getting off the ground. The Cast of Now You See Me 3
“Now You See Me 3” was first talked about in 2016, right after the first movie's sequel. At the time, the main cast was supposed to play their roles again.
This meant that Jesse Eisenberg would play the cocky illusionist Danny Atlas, Woody Harrelson would play the hypnotist Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco would play the sleight-of-hand expert Jack Wilder, and Mark Ruffalo would play the former FBI agent and gang leader Dylan Rhodes.
Isla Fisher played escape artist Henley Reeves in the first movie. Fisher didn't come back in the second movie, so Lizzy Caplan took her place as a new member Lula May.
But the cast may have been willing to come back after the success of the second movie, but now that a few years have passed and they have moved on to other projects, the chance of their coming back is less specific.
People say that the third movie will add to the world by bringing in new characters and giving old ones a chance to return. Benedict Cumberbatch joined the cast of “Now You See Me 3” in 2016, so if he's still going to be in the movie, he could be one of the new magicians.
The Plot of Now You See Me 3
Jesse Eisenberg is still excited about making Now You See Me 3, but he reportedly worries that people are losing interest in the world. More troublesome might be that the audience won't remember all the story tricks in the first two movies.
Like a good magic trick, both Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 were full of cinematic tricks, almost to being silly. But they did it with so much style, charm, and swagger that the audience didn't care how often they were fooled.
The first two movies were about a group of criminal magicians being hunted by the FBI and Interpol as a quick reminder. They were put together and eventually hired by a powerful underground magic group called The Eye to pull off spectacular heists.
When we last saw The Four Horsemen, they had been through some significant changes. A series of shocking discoveries had led them deeper into The Eye's world than they could have ever imagined.
People haven't had a good look behind the curtain of The Eye itself yet. That should change with Now You See Me 3, since the intelligent group of magicians has been officially brought in, and their daring friend Dylan (Ruffalo) has been put in charge.
The Release Date of Now You See Me 3
Now You See Me 3 has a clear plan, and people have been asking for a long time when the movie will be shown and when it will be out. Even more so with the second movie, Now You See Me 2, which got a lot of fans after the first movie, it lived up to the expectations.
Screenwriters approved Now You See Me 3, but they weren't sure when the film would come out. When we look at the movie's information on IMDB, the biggest movie website in the world, we can tell that Now You See Me three will probably come out in 2022 or 2023.

Now You See Me 3 is the third movie in a series of heist thrillers. It hasn't come out yet. Even the stage at which the film is being made is still a mystery. But one thing is for sure: in 2022, the movie will come out in theatres, not on-demand. Now You See Me and You See Me 2 are the last two movies in the Now You See Me series.
