EXCLUSIVE: Nickelodeon's That Girl Lay Lay will return for a second season. Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High and Gabrielle Nevaeh Green feature in the buddy comedy from writer and showrunner David A. Arnold.
That Girl Lay Lay follows the titular actress as an avatar from a personal affirmation app who comes to life and her best friend Sadie (Green) as they traverse adolescence and discover who they truly are.
That Girl Lay Lay produced double-digit increases on Thursday nights and steady #1 rankings in the time slot across all TV in the K6-11 demo since its fall premiere in 2021. In addition, the series' lead actress has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Limited-Series).
Season 2 of That Girl Lay Lay will feature even more music and magical abilities as the two best friends embark on even more adventurous excursions to fulfil Lay Lay's ambition to experience everything that comes with being a true adolescent.
Sadie's brother, Marky, is played by Peyton Perrine III; Sadie's mother, Trish, is played by Tiffany Daniels; and Sadie's father, Bryce, is played by Thomas Hobson.

Season 2 of That Girl Lay Lay will begin filming in Los Angeles early this year, with a summer launch on Nickelodeon.
That Girl Lay Lay is the first project to come out of Nickelodeon's multiform programming contract with the hip-hop musician. Nickelodeon's arrangement with That Girl Lay Lay covers more than just the comedy series; it also includes backing for her music career and an exclusive line of consumer products.
Will Packer Media produces the Nickelodeon show, with Will Packer executive producing and Peggy Cheng managing. Arnold collaborates on the project with John Beck and Ron Hart as executive producers. Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan, Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action, are in charge of the Nickelodeon production of That Girl Lay Lay. Nickelodeon's Executive in Charge of Production for the series is Jessica Brown.
