There was a protracted struggle with lung cancer, which ultimately led to Nick Holly's death, as has been well reported. Both of his parents, Grant & Ida Holly & his brother, Alexander Holly, had died before him. His entire family is still here to celebrate his birthday: mom Michael, stepdad Keith, sis Lauren & gf Amy Shapiro.
A memorial ceremony will be conducted at St. Augustine By-The-Sea (1227 Fourth Street, Santa Monica) on Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception. Supporting organisations that work to eradicate lung cancer & restore the health of the San Francisco Bay would be fitting ways to remember Holly.
Nick Holly's Career
Nick founded Epiphany Alliance Inc., where he represented writers such Nell Benjamin, Laurence O'Keefe, Matthew Flanagan, and David McHugh. Together with a former customer of his, writer-director Fred Goss, he created the film Sons & Daughters. The 11 episodes of the single-camera comedy about a blended family aired in March and April of 2006.
In the episode, Goss played a struggling Ohio guy who lives with his wife and children, his child from a former marriage, his remarried mother, his great-aunt, his stepfather, and his sisters, half-sisters, nephews, and nieces.
According to an interview Holly gave to the Associated Press in 2006, instead of a traditional screenplay, the actors were given a “short narrative,” which “occasionally contains a line or two of speech but is mainly just this novelization.” The TV show didn't have a laugh track. He worked with Goss on the script for the animated comedy series The LeBrons, which was uploaded on YouTube in 2011.

Heartfelt sympathy for you during an unimaginably difficult time. Oh my gosh, what a double whammy. So sorry for your loss, time to take special care of yourself,& it will dawn on you as you wait for things to return to normal, normal has changed, and may not be recognizable, in time the memories replace the losses, but it’s not easy, take care.
