New Docuseries: The Countdown: Inbspiration4 Mission to space

Let's make you informed about the newly released docuseries “The Countdown: Inbspiration4 Mission to space”. Let's now all about it in this article.

What The Countdown: Inbspiration4 Mission to space is All About?

Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space is a five-part American docuseries produced by Netflix and Time Studios that follows the SpaceX Inspiration4 orbital mission. On 3 August 2021, Netflix revealed the development of a documentary series about the first all-civilian orbital voyage on their Twitter account. The next day, Inspiration4's Twitter account responded to the Netflix news, stating, “We can't wait for you to see “Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission To Space” on @netflix, documenting our crew's amazing, out-of-this-world trip.

The series was created to follow the recruiting process, preparation for, and launch of the first all-civilian orbital trip, which would be performed by Elon Musk's firm SpaceX, in as near to real time as possible. The documentary was co-produced by Time Studios and directed by Jason Hehir, director of the 2020 basketball documentary series The Last Dance on Michael Jordan.

The decision by Netflix to co-produce the documentary came just weeks after two other billionaire passenger suborbital spaceflights launched and landed safely in July 2021: Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity flight, which included Richard Branson, and Blue Origin's New Shepard flight, which included Jeff Bezos. On the day before the premiere, Netflix intended to release a “hybrid live-action animation special for kids and families” about Inspiration4.

Inspiration4 signals a new turn for Netflix toward near-real-time documentary creation. The debut date was set for September 15, 2021, and Netflix planned to stream two pairs of episodes about it on September 6 and September 13, 2021. The series finale was scheduled for September 30, 2021, if the launch goes through as planned.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the quick-turnaround series will show viewers behind the scenes with the four crew members, beginning with their unusual selection and continuing through their intense months-long commercial astronaut training, through the personal and emotional moments preceding liftoff, and that “the final episode, which will debut two days after the mission is finished, will contain unplotted video from the flight.

Elon Musk, the creator of SpaceX, utilised social media to encourage his fans to watch the Netflix series. On the day of Inspiration4's launch, he also used Twitter to encourage his fans to witness the historic mission's launch on the Netflix YouTube channel.

The first four episodes were published on time for streaming, running between September 6 and 13, 2021. If all goes as planned, the last episode will depict the Inspiration4's crew's successful return to Earth.
