Neil Gaiman is being accused by two women of sexual assault that occurred during a consensual relationship, Tortoise Media reports. The allegations were first reported in Tortoise's podcast “Master: Accusations Against Neil Gaiman,” which was released on Wednesday.
Tortoise states that Gaiman believes Kay's allegations are due to regrets about her relationship and that Scarlett's allegations are the result of amnesia, but this is not supported by their medical records.
The women say that there were instances of “rough and abusive sexual intercourse,” and some of these were not consensual.
One of the two girls is a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett. She claims that Gaiman sexually assaulted her in February 2022, when he first met her.
Scarlett says the incident happened just hours after she took a shower at Gaiman's New Zealand home while she was on her babysitting job.
While Gaiman says that day he just hugged and loved her. He then has sex three weeks later after complete consent. Scarlett remains adamant that Gaiman was “rude and abusive”.
According to the report, there are contemporary messages, notes and descriptions from her friends to support Scarlett's allegations.
The second woman, known only as KK, says she was 18 in 2003 when she met Gaiman at a book signing. She said that when she was in her 20s, she began a romantic relationship with Gaiman, sometimes involving her in painful sex, “which she neither wanted nor enjoyed.”
Gayman denied the allegations from both women, saying that the relationship was consensual and that he denied all sexual harassment.
