Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein was born in New York City on April 4, 1979. Mom Ivette, dad Aaron (a racing driver, boxing promoter, radio broadcaster), and elder brother Adam raised her in an Orthodox Jewish home.

First, eight years of Natasha’s childhood were spent in Great Neck, New York, until they relocated to Israel for a year and a half. The Israeli children’s film “April Fool” piqued Lyonne’s interest in acting when she was living in Israel.

After their parents split, Ivette and Lyonne attended Ramaz School, an elite Jewish school in New York City. After she was discovered selling marijuana on school property, she was dismissed and sent to Miami by her mother, Ivette.
