Mystery of Marilyn Monroe : What Is the Mystery of Marilyn Monroe and Cause of Her Death?

It's been over 60 years since Marilyn Monroe's death, yet the narrative continues to captivate. Following today's release of The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes on Netflix, a new documentary delves deeper into the circumstances of Monroe's death and the suspected cover-up that ensued.

Anthony Summers, the journalist and novelist whose 1985 book Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe was a New York Times best-seller, conducted extensive audio interviews for the programme. As a type of guide, Summers appears in the film to set the stage for his research and conversations with Monroe's close associates and coworkers. The original audio for the tapes is used—so be sure to turn those captions on—with actors reenacting the phone calls via lip-syncing.

While it seems unlikely the film will provide any concrete revelations surrounding Monroe’s 1962 death, which was ruled a probable suicide, it’s undoubtedly a treasure trove of archived accounts from those who knew the icon best. Here's all you need to know about when and how to watch The Mysteries of Marilyn Monroe on Netflix.
