The ‘Medusa' is a superweapon that drives the world to the verge of extinction, Shattering it to pieces. Nothing is left but barren land with crumbled infrastructure: museums stock mobiles, television and toasters as an archetype remembrance of what the world has lost.

Survival took its course into greed with battlegrounds including Great Britain and Continental Europe prowling their way up to hunt statics settlements in Asia, majorly China with Shan Guo as its leader. Anti-Traction leagues ( sedentary cities) are protecting themselves with walled shields.

But they are saved by Anna, who will help them take down Thaddeus' evil plan.

As it turns out later in the story that Hester was after Thaddeus because he killed her mother and the green-eyed monster is the one who took care of her. The monster got angry with her as she broke her promise of turning into a monster herself.
