Minnesota Vikings Coach Death: Medical examiners have determined that Adam Zimmer's death, that of the former co-defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings & son of former head coach Mike Zimmer, was brought on by his long-term alcoholism. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death of the 38-year-old man whose body was discovered at his Twin Cities residence on October 31, 2022, on Friday. The medical examiner listed “complications of chronic ethanol use disorder” as Zimmer's official cause of death. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention estimates that excessive alcohol usage causes the deaths of around 140K Americans annually. On Monday, October 31 at 1:13 p.m., police from the Mendota Heights Police Department were called to a residence on the 2500 block of Condon Court to check on Zimmer's welfare.
