If you love both comedy and drama alike, this movie is for you. Mimi movie is a Comedy-Drama film written and directed by Laxman Utekar. It has over-the-top ratings, considering the genre. It has 8.2 stars out of 10 on IMDb. The film features Kriti Sanon as the main protagonist. This is one of the few films with the female lead taking up all the work and not being just a sidekick of the male lead.

The Plot of Mimi Movie
John and Summer are an American couple who can’t conceive a child due to some reason. They have come all the way to Rajasthan searching for a surrogate mother. Here they come across Mimi, a local dancer who has big aspirations to become a Bollywood star but doesn’t have any financial means.
Mimi accepts to become the surrogate in exchange for Rs 20 Lakhs. In order to hide her pregnancy from the parents, she lied to her parents about a shooting in Mumbai and started living with a friend.
During a medical checkup, John and Summer find out that the child has Down’s syndrome, devastated they leave for America, and tell Mimi they don’t want the child anymore.
She returns to her parents and tells them that it is Bhanu’s child. This causes fun and chaos as Bhanu is already married. But eventually, Mimi tells her parents about surrogacy. She gives birth to a healthy boy Raj, and they get to know that it was a false positive.
Like any other mother in this world, she gets deeply attached to Raj and starts to weave the Bollywood aspirations for Raj. Isn't that sweet?
About four years later, John and Summer return, and they ask for Raj. Mimi tells them that Raj is hers now. But they threaten her with legal actions as she has signed a contract of surrogacy.
If she is paid for the task, she has no right over the child. Mimi doesn't want to fight the court cases and agrees to the couple’s condition.
On the day of leaving India, John and Summer come with a little girl, Tara, who they explain is their daughter. They have adopted her after being mesmerized by the charm and the connection that they have built with her.
And they also ask Mimi to take care of Raj. Because parenthood is not only about blood but affection and care.

The Music of Mimi movie
This film features 7 tracks. They are composed by AR Rahman and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The female voice was lent by Shreya Ghosal. The music is very melodious. And music critics also gave the overall tracks a good review. It is not the top shelf but yeah, a low-key album that is greatly made.

The ratings and reviews are just phenomenal, with IMDb 8.2 stars, 19406 votes. Even on google reviews, the film has secured 4.7/5 stars with over 7000 reviews. So, there is no doubt that the Indian Audience is pretty much ready for these kinds of movies instead of the cheap same romantic story with different characters kind of movies.
So, yes, the movie has an excellent and well-timed plot. And with so many pointless movies in the market right now. This not only excels in the story part but also got success in providing a moral message to the viewers.
Filmmakers have to understand that people have become more alert nowadays. And their cheap movies won’t work. And Mimi is an excellent kind of example to all the filmmakers out there.
