Who Was Matt Brown?
Alaskan Bush People is a well-known American docudrama-style television series. It follows the Brown family as they attempt to survive in the forest, cut off from the modern world. Matt Brown is the eldest son of the Brown on the Alaskan Bush People. He was 39 years old at the time.

Why Did Matt Brown Quit Alaskan Bush People?
Fans have watched Matt's battle with substance usage affect his ties with his family over the years. The late Billy and Ami Brown's eldest son attended rehab for alcohol treatment in 2016. Matt elected to remain in California, where he was receiving treatment when the family relocated from Alaska to Washington in 2018.
Matt ceased appearing on the show due to his isolation from the rest of his family. He worked on his health and attended rehab for the second time later that year. In April 2021, the former reality star claimed on Instagram that his time on Alaskan Bush People contributed to his addiction issues.

“Everybody’s told me that other people’s secrets aren’t mine to tell, but they’re destroying me, and they’ve been destroying me for a long time,” he said. “I’m cold, and I don’t have any money. And I hardly have anything to eat.”
During the video, Matt said that production provided his family with narcotics and that despite the show's enormous success, he did not profit monetarily from it.
“We made a lot of money off the show, and because my dad controlled everything, all the money went to him,” Matt said, alleging that his family kept over $300,000 from him. “I didn’t have any money or anything. My dad kept that all.”
What Happened to Matt Brown?
In 2018, two women said that Matt had raped them. During an interview with The Sun in September 2020, both women came forward with their claims. They said that Matt had raped them just a few days apart after drinking a lot.

The alleged crimes were reported to the Topanga Division of the Los Angeles Police Department. The case was then given to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The Sun said that the D.A. decided not to go to court. Matt has never talked about the accusations in public.

Where Is Matt Brown Now?
Matt now lives in the North Cascade mountains, near his family's North Ranch house in Washington.
