More than 12 million records have been sold worldwide by the three-time Grammy Award winner and six-time Latin Grammy Award winner. Anthony is well-known for his Latin salsa and ballads, and he's received a slew of honors and prizes for them.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
On September 16, 1968, Marco Antonio Muiz, better known as Marc Anthony, was born in New York City. In addition to being a housewife, Guillermina was also a pianist and a cafeteria worker at a hospital cafeteria.
His parents were both born and raised in Puerto Rico. Anthony was reared as a Roman Catholic in East Harlem. He is the eighth and last kid of a family of ten.

In 1988, Bluedog Records released “Rebel,” Anthony's freestyle music debut. The late 1980s and the early 1990s saw him working on a variety of different things.
The song “Boy I've Been Told” for Sa-Fire was written and produced by him, as was the duet “You Should Know By Now” with Chrissy I-Reece and Todd Terry with Little Louie Vega. Freestyle club classics like “Time” and “Ride On The Rhythm” were also produced by him.
He was initially apprehensive about pursuing a career in salsa music, but after working with RMM Records to record his Spanish-language debut, “Otra Nota,” in 1993, he changed his mind. Billboard named him Hot Tropical Artist of the Year in 1995, and he was nominated for a Grammy for “Todo a Su Tiempo.”
Gold certification in the United States and Puerto Rico indicates that the album has sold more than 800,000 copies. In 1997, he published the album “Contra La Corriente”. With “Y Huubo Alguien,” the album's lead hit, he became the first salsa performer to have a number one single on Billboard Hot Latin Tracks.
Additionally, it was the first-ever entry for a salsa album inside the top 200 of the Billboard albums list. In 1999, he left RMM to join Sony Records.
