In the same year, Bell did a Daytrotter session. Daytrotter says that the people Bell writes about “have personalities bigger than life” and that “Bell is undoubtedly one of the most talented countries and western songwriters working.”

Bell moved to Nashville, Tennessee, when the second record era was over. In 2016, Bell released his second self-titled album and his third and last studio album. It had some songs from his previous album and some new songs.
“Sometimes,” a song from the album that was first released as a single on Bell's 2014 album, got attention from both NPR Music and Rolling Stone. The song got a music video with Erin Rae, Patrick Sweany, and Kristina Murray. Bell put out a cover of John Lennon's 1971 song “Jealous Guy” at the end of 2016.
Death
On August 20, 2022, Bell went missing in Tucson, Arizona, while his friend went out to eat. He was found dead nine days later in Tucson, not far from where he had been seen last. He was 32. Bell had a severe form of bipolar disorder and had just changed the medicine he was taking to treat it before he died.
