The First Season of Locke and Key is Spoilered Here
There are further cast members who might appear again. Bill Heck, who plays the late father of the Locke family, should come back for a few episodes (or scenes). We're crossing our fingers that Stanchfield will show up at some point after an Instagram photo from the season 2 set appears to confirm it.
Despite being sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Nebraska after season 1, Cody Bird's Rufus Whedon may return. He suffered an injury in the season 1 finale, but if it's considered essential, we think he might make a brief cameo.
Ellie (Sherrie Saum) might be able to say the same, but that depends on whether the siblings can recover her after she was thrown through the Omega Door in the season 1 finale.
Two of the season 1 guest performers have been promoted to season 2 regulars in the meantime. Duncan Locke and Eden Hawkins' respective actors, Aaron Ashmore, and Halle Jones will have more prominent roles this season.
Brendan Hines, a former cast member of The Tick, has now been added as a series regular. According to Deadline, Hines will portray Josh Bennett, the new history teacher at Matheson Academy. Liyou Abere (The Boys, Mrs. America) has also been included as a guest star. She will support the Lockes in their conflict with Dodge by taking on the role of Bode's new acquaintance Amie Bennett.
Story From Season 2 of Locke and Key
The plot will continue where it left off after the first season.
The demon, who appeared as Dodge, Lucas, and Gabe in the first season, has outwitted the Locke family. In addition to having been duped by the demon into casting Ellie into the abyss beyond the Omega Door, the Locke family also has to contend with the possibility that Eden is now under the demon's influence.

There will be a lot more doors, keys, and devils somewhere. To avoid spoilers, actor Connor Jessup masked up the new keys that would appear in a teaser Instagram picture that hinted at other keys we might see in season 2.
Other elements from the comics might also make an appearance, but Hill and Rodriguez aren't afraid to make adjustments when translating the original material.
When asked about Sam Lesser's diminished role and the blending of two significant tones in season 1, Hill responded, “It needs to work as a TV show. It must be successful within the bounds of its special shape.
There were things we could do that you couldn't do in any other media when we worked on the comic, and we were always keen to make it successful as a comic.
So season 2 may deviate a little from the comics, but what fresh material might we see this time?
