Return to Labyrinth is an original English-language manga based on the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth by Jim Henson.
The creator is Jake T. Forbes, and the illustrator is Chris Lie. Koyu Shurei designed the covers for all four volumes. Tokyopop is the publisher.
Return to Labyrinth is a four-part series that began in August 2006 with Volume 1. Volume 2 was released in October 2007 and was originally titled Goblin Prince of the Labyrinth, but the Return to Labyrinth title is now used for all volumes.
Originally planned as a three-part series, it was announced at the end of the second volume that the story would be expanded to four volumes. Volume 3 was released on May 12, 2009. The final volume was released on August 3, 2010.
The story takes place approximately thirteen years after the events of Labyrinth and revolves around Toby, who has grown into a teenager by this point. The series received mixed reviews.

However, with the director change appears to have come to a writer change, as Levin has joined Derrickson's crew.
The initial vision of a spin-off has yet to be confirmed. What we can be certain of is that with Lisa Henson of The Jim Henson Company producing and Brian Henson executive producing, it will feature impressive puppets and be true to the world Jim Henson created.
Labyrinth 2 Cast
Here's the catch. To say David Bowie is irreplaceable as the Goblin King is an understatement, but as they say, the show must go on. Fans are already campaigning for Tilda Swinton to play the part.
There is no word on whether Jennifer Connelly will return to play Sarah. Sarah's quest to defeat the labyrinth in order to save her kidnapped baby half-brother was the focus of the original film.
It's difficult to imagine a Labyrinth sequel without her, whether she's grown up to be the Goblin Queen or is simply living a mundane life in suburbia.
However, if the film is a spin-off, we may not see any of the original characters return.

Labyrinth 2 Release Date
There had been rumors of a sequel to Labyrinth for a few years, but TriStar and The Jim Henson Company didn't publicly announce anything until 2014.
The excitement was overshadowed by the mourning of fans everywhere when the news broke not long after star David Bowie's tragic death in January of 2016.
Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe) was set to direct the film more than a year later, in April 2017, and Alvarez's collaborator, writer Jay Basu (the pair worked together on The Girl in the Spider's Web), was also on board.
