KonoSuba Season 3 Release Date: Who Will Be The New Characters?

The isekai anime “Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!” also known as “Kono Suba” was first shown in Japan in 2016. It's not an isekai in the strictest sense; instead, it's a parody of an isekai.

Based on a light book series by Natsume Akatsuki, this animation takes place in a posthumous parallel universe where Kazuma and his companions, the Goddess and the Magician and the Challenger, are all part of our wacky crew.

Since its first airing in Japan on January 14, 2016, the series has been licensed by Crunchyroll, has become a worldwide sensation, and is now shown in the United States on HBO Max.

The second season's approval was rewarded and emerged before the audience barely one year later. The upcoming third season has everyone on the edge of their seats. Is there going to be the third season of KonoSuba? Let's look into it.

What is KonoSuba?

This manga recounts the adventures of Kazuma Satou, a teenage boy reborn after he “saved” a little girl's life. Rather than the conventional isekai power dream, Kazuma transforms into a mediocre adventurer with few redeeming characteristics, relying solely on his intelligence and good fortune to achieve his ultimate goal—to defeat the Demon King.

Kazuma, the outsider, provides the straight man (in more ways than one) for his crazy party mates. They are influential on the outside but practically worthless because of their crippling personalities.

While Megumin can only perform one spell, Aqua, the goddess of water, has a love for drinking and party antics, and Darkness, a fierce crusader who spent all her stat points on strength to endure more significant damage.

Is There Going to Be a Konosuba Season 3?

About a year ago, on July 18, 2021, it was revealed that development had begun on a new anime project. There was a lot of speculation that this may be a new anime season, but the crew subsequently said they were working on more.

“KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, the spinoff light book from the KonoSuba series, was also announced on May 28, 2022, by Kadokawa as part of the anime project's third season.” is getting its animated series. The announcement's central visual was published on Twitter by the animation crew.

For the first two seasons, the anime cooperated with Studio Deen. The third season will take place in a new studio. Studio Drive will animate the third season and spinoff. It's been a while since we've seen work from this company, and KonoSuba appears to be their most notable achievement.

Takaomi Kanasaki and Koichi Kikuta return as director and character designer, respectively, for the third season. In the third season, the anime's primary cast will also appear. The new anime season and its spinoff have yet to receive a promotional trailer.

With no word yet on a third season of “KonoSuba,” the cast hasn't even been announced. Given that the voice actors from seasons 1 and 2 worked on “KonoSuba,” it's logical to presume they would also return for a possible season 3 of the anime.

Jun Fukushima portrayed Kazuma, Sora Amamiya portrayed Aqua, Ai Kayano portrayed Darkness, and Rie Takahashi portrayed Megumin in the cast. Season 3 of “KonoSubaproduction “‘s team may not be as well-defined as the show's voice cast.

The first and second seasons of the anime were animated by Studio Deen, according to Anime News Network. Nonetheless, J.C. Staff was in charge of creating the film's animations. J.C. Staff might be chosen to animate a third season of the show if the film was deemed successful by the show's producers.

Producing director Takaomi Kanakaki is expected to return with writer Makoto Uezu, while composer Masato Koda is scheduled to make the film's score again. All three were involved in one way or another with the first two seasons and the movie.

What's the Plot of Konosuba Season 3?

Although there may not be an official description for “KonoSuba” Season 3, the light novels the series is based on may provide us with all the information we need to know about the show's third season.

As of this writing, “KonoSuba” has mostly adhered to the storylines found in the light novels. In addition, “KonoSuba's” anime offers 17 volumes of the light novel series to pick from. KonoSuba's first and second seasons are based on Volumes 1 and 2, while Seasons 3 and 4 are used in Season 2.

Based on volume 5, the film also seems to be a continuation of Seasons 1 and 2. In the movie, the group visits Megumin's hometown and faces off against Sylvia, a general of the Demon King. Even when Sylvia merges with two other generals, Kazuma and his crew can overpower her.

Volume 6 of the light novel is anticipated to serve as the basis for the upcoming season, which will follow Kazuma as he meets with the Crown following the dissemination of news about his party's victory over the Demon King.

Although the meeting with royalty goes awry, Kazuma manages to get separated from his group for a while. Kazuma and Megumin's growing romance was also strongly featured in the film. As a result, the subject will probably be revisited in Season 3.

What Is It About Konosuba That Is So Different?

KonoSuba is not as harmless as you may imagine despite its delicate appearance. It's impossible to tell which character is the most insane. Because of this, they are lovely.

Kazuma's contact with the goddess Aqua after he died, and this so-called “goddess” Aqua was making fun of the manner Kazuma died, would be the most acceptable illustration of this event.

It all starts when Kazuma decides to use Aqua to get retribution on the goddesses for bestowing him with a gift in his previous life. It's difficult not to enjoy the characters' designs when watching the anime.

Each character has a distinct personality and mannerisms, and you may begin to believe that there are four significant protagonists after some time. As ludicrous as our characters' reactions and answers to situations may be, it's impossible not to giggle at their emotions and solutions.

The anime series KonoSuba is known for its heavy reliance on humor. Even in the most serious of action scenarios, there's always room for some zaniness. Although Konosuba has cliché situations, it is one of the few animes of its sort that exploits such scenes for its gain and makes fun of them till the finish.
