The Making of Last Man Standing Season 9

Last Man Standing was renewed for a ninth season by Fox on May 19, 2020.  On October 14, 2020, it was revealed that this would be the series' last season. Because the season is set in 2023, it does not require to take place during the COVID-19 epidemic, however, it will still discuss how the pandemic affected the characters.  The time leap also allows the infants Kristin and Mandy were expecting at the end of Season 8 to be shown as three-year-old toddlers. The premiere was supposed to be the eighth season's unfinished conclusion, but owing to the fact that much of it would have to be rewritten and that guest-star Kaitlyn Dever had to cancel, it was changed.
