Klonoa is an often-overlooked but popular platformer from the past, and with Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, it's getting a second chance to shine in the spotlight.
This new collection, which was announced during yesterday's Nintendo Direct, includes remastered versions of the first two games in the Klonoa series, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil, for a release on Switch and other platforms at the same time as the original titles.

Those who missed out on Klonoa may be interested to know that they are sidescrolling 3D platformers that feature the titular dog, cat, or rabbit character who must struggle to preserve his dreamworld safe from attack.
In 1997, the PlayStation version of Door to Phantomile was launched, and it was widely regarded as one of the best platformers of the time period. Lunatae's Veil was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 and earned a lot of positive feedback.
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will be getting a physical release in Europe
As previously announced, Bandai Namco has confirmed that the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series would be released on physical media in Europe. However, it is still unclear whether or not a similar package exists for North American customers.
The Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series was unveiled for the Nintendo Switch during the most recent Nintendo Direct, which took place last week.
It's been more than a decade since Bandai Namco has had anything to do with the series. The most recent addition came in 2008 when Bandai Namco released Klonoa: Door to Phantomile on Wii, a remake of the 1997 PlayStation game of the same name.
Release Date and Platform Support
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will be released for Nintendo Switch on July 8, and it will also be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at a later date.
