So far, the “Kingsman” franchise has been an unusual and inconsistent experience. While the first picture, “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” scored a pretty good 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $414 million worldwide (according to Box Office Mojo), things only became murkier from there.
The sequel to “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” did not do well with critics, receiving only a 51% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it earned $410 million at the global box office, virtually matching its predecessor.
Instead of jumping right into a third picture, director Matthew Vaughn and company chose to make “The King's Man,” a prequel film with a new cast. That film was released on December 22, and critics' reactions to the latest edition were severely split.
Still, given the success of “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” it's just a matter of time until fans get a proper third installment in the main tale. Here's all we know about “Kingsman 3” thus far.
What Will the Plot of Kingsman 3 Be About?
Aside from detailing the conclusion of Eggsy and Harry Hart's narrative, we don't know much about the third film's plot. Expect the unexpected, like with the previous two Kingsman films.
“People will freak out in either a good or a horrible way, but they will freak out,” Vaughn teased in June 2019. “We're writing the script as I speak, but they embark on a journey that I'll give up if someone predicts it.”
Unsurprisingly, the critical couple will be the plot's focus, with Vaughn telling Collider in December 2021 that it will be a “will they or won't they” drama.
“It's the group reuniting, and it's one of those times when we were writing the screenplay, it was very much about, ‘OK, I saw how people enjoyed the bond of Eggsy and Harry,'” he revealed.

“So we just came up with this thing; what might be the ultimate reason for them to fall in love or despise each other for the rest of their lives?”All Egerton wants for the next film is for it to be treated better than The Golden Circle, which he says received an “unfair kicking.”
Don't look for any indications in the third story in the Kingsman comics series, Kingsman: The Red Diamond. While the first Kingsman film shared the same title as its comic book inspiration, it did not tell the same plot. The sequel was also very different from the funny book sequel. Therefore we doubt the third film will be inspired by the comic.
Who is in the Kingsman 3 Cast?
We can get two notable names out of the way regarding the “Kingsman 3” rumor and supposition. Taron Egerton's Eggsy was the main character in the previous two films, and Colin Firth's Harry was also revealed to be alive in “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”
In a December 2021 interview with Collider, Matthew Vaughn indicated that Eggsy and Harry would “certainly” appear in the future film. Less apparent is who else, as Vaughn did not clarify when he noted that “Kingsman 3” will have the “group getting back together.”
Mark Strong's Merlin appeared to sacrifice himself near the conclusion of “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” but bringing him back for “Kingsman 3” wouldn't be out of the question for this franchise, which isn't precisely grounded in reality.
Roxy (Sophie Cookson), who died prematurely in the second film, is another possible resurrection that fans would like to witness. Other characters in the US Statesman organization could return, including Agent Tequila (Channing Tatum) and the newly-minted Agent Whiskey (Halle Berry).

Expected Release Date
According to a recent Comic Book source, “Kingsman 3” will begin filming in September 2022. That isn't precisely tomorrow, but it makes sense considering the release of “The King's Man” in December 2021.
Because “Kingsman 3” is anticipated to have a large budget, production will undoubtedly take some time, and post-production will take even longer. Because the previous start date is so far away, there's always the chance that things will alter, especially with the ongoing pandemic.
However, if “Kingsman 3” does begin in September 2022 as planned, there's a good chance it'll be released in late 2023/early 2024.
“Kingsman: The Secret Service” came out in February, and “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” came out in September. Thus either of those dates may work for the third installment. Of course, no one can say because release dates are more uncertain than ever.
