Early Life
On October 15, 1981, in Oakland, California, Keyshia Myeshia Johnson was born. Francine Lons and boxing trainer Virgil Hunter are her biological parents, but Keyshia didn't meet Hunter until 2016 when she was 34 years old, and she had no idea who her true father was.
Keyshia Cole was adopted at the age of two by friends of the family, Leon and Yvonne Cole after Francine had six children with six different dads. At the age of 12, Cole and her brother Sean had the opportunity to work with MC Hammer on a song they had written together.
When Keyshia met Tupac Shakur, she was invited to work on a project with him. Sadly, Tupac was assassinated the night he asked her to participate with him.
