When Will Joker: Folie à Deux Be Released?
After conflicting reviews and disputes about the Joker's moral compass, it was unclear whether or not a sequel would be made. Phillips confirmed the news with an Instagram image of the screenplay cover in June.
The article not only revealed the film's official title, Joker: Folie Deux, but it also confirmed that the filmmaker would return to direct and continue to chronicle the narrative of the famed villain with his co-writer, Scott Silver.
The sequel will be released on October 4, 2024, according to an announcement made on August 3, 2022. The sequel will be released five years after the original film. Although that is still a long way off, the following production specifics will undoubtedly make the wait worthwhile.
Who is in the Cast of Joker: Folie à Deux?
As you can see in the above teaser, Gaga will be in the Joker sequel, and all signs point to her playing Harley Quinn in the next movie. In the comics, the character was first shown as Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist who falls in love with her mentally ill patient, Arthur Fleck. It's not the first time Gaga has played a bad person on the big screen.
Last year, the singer and actress used Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott's version of Maurizio Gucci's tragic death (played by Adam Driver). People who have seen House of Gucci know that Gaga can play a femme fatale very well, so putting her in the role of Harley Quinn seems like a great choice.

What Will the Plot of Joker: Folie à Deux Be?
We don't know much about the plot yet, other than what we can guess from the title. We do know, though, that the movie will be a musical in some way. In the last scene of Joker, Arthur was locked up in Arkham State Hospital.
He had probably been arrested by the police after the riots that broke out in Gotham City were put down. In the last shot of the movie, he is seen dancing down a hospital corridor, leaving red footprints behind him.
The other big question for the second Joker movie is who Arthur's enemy will be. In many ways, Joker was his own worst enemy in the first movie. The main point of the movie was how he went from being a somewhat normal person to a full-on killer.

Is There a Trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux?
Since Joker: Folie Deux is still in development and hasn't started filming yet, there hasn't been an official trailer for it yet. But Lady Gaga did post a teaser on social media with her and Phoenix's last names in bold and their silhouettes next to each other to confirm a casting choice that had been rumored for a while.
