Invincible Season 2 Release Date: Cast Members And Plot Details

As a result of how the animated program combines emotional story arcs with gory, ruthless violence, it has quickly established itself among many viewers as one of the greatest animated shows ever produced.

But because it only had eight episodes, the first season went by just as quickly as Red Rush himself. This is especially true after the devastating fight between Invincible and Omni-Man. Mark's father beats him to a bloody pulp before fleeing the planet and practically leveling Chicago.

But will people's perceptions of superheroes shift due to what happens? Will Mark use his superhero alter-ego differently than he has in the past? What about the several additional dangers that were hinted at towards the show's conclusion?

If you are interested in learning more about the Invincible season 2 release date, brace yourself because here is all we know about it.

Anticipated Release Date for Invincible Season 2

Unfortunately, Amazon Prime Video has not yet confirmed a release date for Invincible season 2. The show's creators have been very mum about when the next round of episodes will air.

“The production timeframe is fairly frightening,” Robert Kirkman told Collider in advance of the first season, suggesting that season 2 should not take as long to create. In my opinion, this season has taken a long time to develop and perfect. Things are expected to get much tighter in season two and beyond.”

“There's a lot less designing and different things that have to happen to go into our second season,” the highly renowned writer continued. And there's a good chance that development on the second season has already begun.”

I think we're in fantastic shape to move ahead if this show is successful,” Kirkman said. Now that the film is still developing, there's something to look forward to. To top it all off, Amazon has already renewed the series for a third season, which is excellent news.

Speculation on the Plot of Invincible Season 2

For the second season of Invincible, the first season provided us with a taste. Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) asks Mark Grayson, “What's the strategy in the interim?” Towards the show's conclusion, we see several future risks that Mark may face.

This season's events include the Sequids' invasion of Mars, the inter-dimensional Flaxans' preparation for war, Titan's rise to power, and the Battle-massacre Beast of aliens in space.

Not to mention that D.A. Sinclair (Ezra Miller) is now employed by Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins) at the Global Defense Agency, where he works for the crazy scientist. So, Mark is going to be busy.

Even if Invincible's father Omni-Man is still out someplace, he'll eventually have to face him.

As a result of his discovery of Viltrum's natural character, he must now take steps to prepare Earth for an impending invasion by the evil empire. To keep the planet safe from different perils, the yellow-and-blue-suited hero must cope with Immortal Man, who survived Omni-horrific Man's strike.

He also works with the Guardians of the Globe and Cecil. Invincible heads to an unknown planet to aid a mantis-like species of humans, but he discovers Omni-Man on a throne on the other side… Interesting.

Fortunately, he'll also have to aid the Coalition of Worlds to stop the Viltrumites from spreading throughout the cosmos and enslaving other planets. However, Robert Kirkman indicated to ComicBook.com that one of Invincible's key antagonists — the dimension-hopping Angstrom Levy – will be a prominent feature of Season 2.

According to the author, “He shakes things up. To understand what we're going to do in season two of the program, you need to know the comics and the TV show and how the plot was translated in the first season.”

The Expected Cast of Invincible Season 2

Who exactly will be reprising their roles in the second season of Invincible? It should be no surprise that Steven Yeun, a former cast member of The Walking Dead, will be reprising his role as Mark Grayson, also known as Invincible and that J.K. Simmons will be returning to portray Nolan Grayson, also known as Omni-Man.

By the time the season came to a close, the relationship between the father and son had been irreparably damaged; nonetheless, Mark was able to convince Nolan of the importance of their continued existence by reminding him that they would always have each other.

Their conflict will continue to have repercussions for Mark's family and friends, especially Debbie Grayson, and Killing Eve star Sandra Oh will delve deeper into the implications of the Omni-Man twist in the upcoming second season.

Don't worry. The Guardians of the Globe will also be returning, so get ready to see more from Gillian Jacobs' Atmo Eve, Jason Mantzoukas' Rex Splode, Khary Payton's Black Samson, Malese Jow's Dupli-Kate, Grey Griffin's Shrinking-Rey, and Monster Girl. Also returning will be Khary Payton's, Black Samson.

It is interesting to note that Ross Marquand will return to his role as Rudy Conners; however, it is still unknown if Zachary Quinto will continue to provide Robot's voice as he did in the first season.

It wouldn't be shocking if The Walking Dead star Ross Marquand, who is a great impersonator and also portrays the role of Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, replaced the Star Trek veteran who originally played the part.

Essentially, all the actors and actresses whose characters emerged from the first set of episodes unharmed will be invited back for the second season. Although likely, some new actors will also be joining the cast shortly; Amazon has not yet made any announcements on these new cast members.
