Inventing Anna Season 2: Details You Need To Know Right Now!

Even though it's been years since the viral post that started it all, scammers have found themselves entangled once more in the Anna Delvey saga. Following Anna's experiences as she works to build an elite club in New York City, she visits luxury boutiques and stays in five-star hotels along the way. Inventing Anna is a Netflix original series that premiered in 2017. The only difficulty was that she lacked the financial means to support her extravagant lifestyle.

Customers, whether they consider her a driven entrepreneur or an overly concerned with labels scammer, are enthralled by the new Shondaland series, which has swiftly risen to the top of Netflix's Top 10 shows. Is the amount of interest in Inventing Anna sufficient to warrant a second season? Here's what we currently know.

What happened at the end of season 1 of ‘Inventing Anna'?

During Anna's trial, which lasted nine episodes, the scammer (played by Julia Garner) attempted to obstruct the proceedings by demanding that she hand over her clothing. At some point, her lawyer, Todd Spodek (Arian Moayed), persuades her to proceed with the trial and place her trust in him, with Neff (Alexis Floyd) and Vivian (Anna Chlumsky) assisting her in any way they can. Todd also makes several unsuccessful attempts to persuade Anna's father to attend the trial during the course of the proceedings.

Rachel (Katie Lowes) gave an emotional statement during the judgement reading, and the jury determines Anna not guilty of the accusations relating to the bank loan and having Rachel pay for Rachel's travel expenses to Morocco. Anna is found guilty of larceny against businesses such as stores, hotels, and a private jet company, for which the real-life Delvey was sentenced to four years in prison in the real world.

The episode concludes with a final meeting between Anna and Vivian in Rikers Island. In the face of Anna's pleas for Vivian to continue visiting her, Vivian resolves to move on from the Anna Delvey narrative after years of disparaging both her brains and her appearance. It brings the series' narrative to a close, which followed the journalist as she became entangled in Anna's storey while doing her reporting.

Is it possible that ‘Inventing Anna' will return for a second season?

The short answer is, of course, no. The show, which is based on a 2018 article by journalist Jessica Pressler, is touted as a limited series, and the first season includes nearly all of the details of Delvey's life that were included in the piece, as well as testimony from her friends and acquaintances. Both Netflix and Shondaland have made no indications about whether or not they want the programme to continue, and the finale effectively concludes the show's narrative arc.

When it comes to what Delvey has been up to after the verdict was handed down, a second season would most likely draw more influence from Orange is the New Black than anything else. Delvey was only free for six weeks after being released on good conduct in early 2021 before being apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for overstaying her visa. Because the grifter is still in detention at this point, a show chronicling her life up to this point would have significantly less flash and glamour than Inventing Anna season 1 did.

Overall, we don't anticipate to see any more fictionalised chapters of Anna's trip in the future.

Is there any other Anna Delvey projects in the works at the moment?

In a recent article, Deadline stated that Delvey, née Sorokin, has teamed up with the production studio behind Surviving R. Kelly to produce a new documentary of her own. The docuseries, which has supposedly been in the works for months, would give us an inside peek at Delvey's mind and personality. It could also provide insight into her activities soon following her release, as she shared a snapshot of herself with a camera team around the same time.

Rachel's point of view might also be used to tell the storey of Delvey's plans, which would be interesting. ‘My Friend Anna' is the title of a book written by Delvey's former friend, Rachel DeLoache Williams, who wrote about her friendship with Anna, its disintegration, and the subsequent trial in the book My Friend Anna. Though HBO and actress Lena Dunham had previously expressed interest in developing the film, it is not currently in development, as Williams explains. Perhaps another streamer will decide to join the Delvey bandwagon.
