Interview With the Vampire on AMC Will Premiere in October 2022!

The first trailer for AMC's adaptation of Interview With the Vampire has arrived, and it features the reimagining of three classic vampires.

The trailer premiered on Friday during the series' panel at San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans their first look at Lestat, Louis, Claudia, and the rest of Anne Rice's beloved characters in action. On top of that, we now know that the series will premiere on Sunday, October 2 at 10/9c. AMC+ subscribers can watch the first two episodes that very evening.

What is Interview With the Vampire About?

The official tagline reads, “Follow the epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality as told to journalist Daniel Molloy by Louis de Pointe du Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt, and Claudia.”

Louis, frustrated by the restrictions he faces as a black man in early twentieth-century New Orleans, can't say “no” to the dashing Lestat's offer of the ultimate freedom: becoming a vampire's companion.

But the introduction of Lestat's newest progeny, the child vampire Claudia, sets them on a path of revenge and atonement that will span decades.

Has Interview With the Vampire Previously Been Adapted?

Yes. You may recall the 1994 cult classic starring Brad Pitt as Louis, Tom Cruise as Lestat, and a young Kirsten Dunst as Claudia. In the same year as the original production, Esquire documented the backlash against casting Cruise that was stoked by outraged fans and Rice.
