Sam Bruce, Isaac's 24-year-old nephew, died in an automobile accident on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 8:23 p.m.
Sam, a good football player, joined Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2018 after leaving the University of Miami program. He also attended Southeastern University.

Who was Sam Bruce?
Sam Bruce was well-known throughout the country for his all-around performance at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
Sam Bruce, the nephew of NFL Hall of Famer Isaac Bruce, arrived at the University of Miami as a four-star prospect and the No. 11 wide receiver in the 2016 class. He was dubbed “The Lamborghini” after his exploits in St. Aquinas.
He never played for the Hurricanes and was released from the program months into his first year. According to reports, Bruce was fired for violating team discipline.
In 2018, Sam signed with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and South Eastern University.
Bruce joined the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League after finishing his college football career. He also tried out for the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos.
Meanwhile, his uncle Isaac Bruce had a successful 15-year NFL career, winning the Super Bowl once. The former wide receiver was a four-time Pro Bowler and the Los Angeles Rams retired his No.80 jersey.
He also played with the San Francisco 49ers for two years before retiring. In 2020, the 49-year-old will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, while driving about in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Sam Bruce was involved in a tragic vehicle accident. According to TMZ, he had a seizure and got immediate care, including CPR, before being brought to the hospital. He was declared deceased the next day.
“At this time,” a spokeswoman of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department told TMZ, “the circumstances surrounding this incident are not suspicious, and foul play is not suspected.”
On Thursday, April 28, 2022, St. Thomas Aquinas High School reported Sam's tragic death on social media.

Tavares Gooden, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and others, and Twan Russell, who used to play for the Washington Commanders (their name was different back then), and Atlanta Falcons, both attended the high school.
On Thursday, April 28, 2022, the South Florida Express, the seven-on-seven high school football program Sam attended before commencing his college football career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Southeastern University, published a statement honoring his spirit.
“We are saddened to hear about the loss of one of the greatest players to ever come through SFE,” South Florida Express said on Twitter. “Your infectious energy and ability to make anyone laugh will live on in our hearts forever.” We spoke with Sam's family, and they simply asked that you pray for them during this difficult time.”
