How did Megan Parra die?
The lovely Megan Claire Ducote was born on November 7, 1984, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Missy and Steve Ducote. She had a kind heart and she filled every room with life. Her parents and her sister, Betsy Jeansonne, loved and adored her as she grew up in a close-knit family.
Megan was happy with her life before she met Dustin Michael Parra, and she was excited to add more happiness to it. The two quickly became interested in each other and started dating. One thing led to another, and the two chose to take their relationship to the next level by getting married.
Megan grew up in Cottonport, and that's where the newlyweds chose to live after getting married. During their marriage, they had two cute kids, Austin Steven Parra and Breckin Michael Parra.
People said she was a loving mother whose life revolved around her family and that she took being a mother very seriously. Still, Megan's picture-perfect life wasn't so perfect after all. On June 28, 2014, she was found in the living room of her Cottonport home with a gunshot wound to the head and her blood all over her.

For as long as Megan was still breathing, her mother, Missy Ducote, used her nurse skills to try to save her life. The police found the gun right next to her when they got to the scene of the crime. There were no signs of forced entry. Based on these details, the cops said she killed herself.
The woman was taken to Lafayette General Medical Center right away, but the gunshot wound was too bad for the doctors to save her. She died the next day, on June 29, 2014. She was 29 years old and had two children.
