How Did Keeno Butler Die?
Keeno was murdered on purpose by his lover.
She crushed him with her weight at the time, as she weighed 136kg. She admitted that they fought just before she took action. She couldn't stop herself and she crushed Keeno with her weight. According to the study, the victim suffered blunt force damage to the head.
Thomas assassinated Butler on March 18 at the couple's residence at 1019 East Ave.
During a confrontation, Thomas slashed Butler's hand with a folding knife and beat him in the head with a table leg before sitting on him, according to Thomas.
Investigators indicated in an affidavit that Thomas weighed roughly 300 pounds and Butler weighed approximately 120 pounds as the probable reason.
The death of Butler was judged a homicide “caused by respiratory insufficiency secondary to blunt force trauma to the neck and thoracic compression, exacerbated by blunt force trauma to the head,” according to the affidavit.
Butler's body was discovered on the living room floor at the apartment after Thomas contacted 911 and stated she had killed someone.
Judge William R. Cunningham of Erie County accepted the plea just before 9 a.m. In exchange for Thomas' plea in the death of her lover, 44-year-old Keeno Butler, Assistant Erie County District Attorney Jeremy Lightner reduced charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of an instrument of a crime.
The recommended sentence of 18 to 36 years would reduce the maximum penalty of 20 to 40 years for third-degree murder, an unpremeditated killing with malice, by two to four years. Thomas was supposed to go on trial in the case on December 10.
“Based on the facts of the case, it's a good result,” said Thomas' court-appointed counsel, Mark Del Duca of Pittsburgh. “I think it's fair for both sides.”
Sandra Butler, the victim's sister, stated that she wished Thomas would serve more time than the agreed-upon punishment.
Butler believes she should have 40 or more. “She deserved life.” Thomas will be held in Erie County Prison without bond pending her sentencing.
Sandra Butler stated that her family is still grieving her brother's loss. “My mother, she calls for him every night,” Butler explained.
