Since its premiere in 2002, Degrassi: The Next Generation has shown the world some truly talented people, such as Drake, Nina Dobrev, and the sadly deceased Jahmil French, who was declared dead on March 1, 2021.
The Canadian actor joined the show's cast in Season 9 and played Dave Turner. He was only 29 years old when he died. The shocking death of Jahmil has made fans wonder what could have happened to the young star.
Who Was Jahmil French?
Jahmil French was an actor from Canada. He played the lead role in Degrassi: The Next Generation. At the 1st Canadian Screen Awards in 2013, he was nominated for Best Performance in a Children's Youth Program or Series.
After being in Degrassi, French joined the cast of the 2017 Canadian movie Boost. He was up for Best Supporting Actor at the 6th Canadian Screen Awards for his part.
How Did Jahmil French Die?
His representative stated that Jahmil had died. They wouldn't say how he died, but they did ask that people pray for his family.
A person who worked for Jahmil told People, “It is with heavy hearts that I confirm the death of a dear friend and client, Jahmil French.”

The actor and Joshua Safran worked together on Netflix's 2019 show Soundtrack. In a tweet, Safran stated that French had died: “I can confirm my good friend, co-worker, and all-around inspiration, Jahmil French, passed away yesterday.”
