Who was Shock G?
Shock G was a rapper and producer who was born Gregory Jacobs in August 1963. The rapper, also known as Humpty Hump relocated to Oakland, California, and founded the hip-hop group Digital Underground.
In 1987, Gregory co-founded the band with Jimi “Chopmaster J” Dright and Kenneth “Kenny-K” Waters. Shock G was the group's lead vocalist, but the other members swapped regularly and featured Tupac Shakur.
Shock G later collaborated with Tupac Shakur, appearing on his song “I Get Around” and co-producing his 1991 album 2Pacalyse Now.

Chopmaster J, aka Huge Brutha, a friend of the rapper, reported Shock G's death on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
“34 years ago, almost to the day, we had a wild idea we could be a hip-hop band and take on the world through it all the dream became a reality and the reality became a nightmare for some,” he said in the caption.
“And now he's awakened from the fame-long live shock G Aka Humpty Hump and Rest In Peace, my Brotha Greg Jacobs!”

Shock G died after an accidental overdose after mixing fentanyl and alcohol, according to TMZ.
According to the medical examiner's office, the rapper died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, ethanol, and methamphetamine.
