What is Honor Society?

According to Deadline's story, the film “Honor Society” offers a variation on the traditional coming-of-age comedy. The film's plot centers on Honor Rose (Angourie Rice), a senior in high school, and her quest to submit an outstanding application to Harvard.
She must receive a reference from her guidance counselor, Mr. Calvin, for her to be accepted into the Ivy League institution (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Instead of approaching the application process traditionally, Honor opts to take a more competitive approach.
She devises a strategy to eliminate the school's other three top students from the running using any means necessary. However, her process is derailed when she finds that she is developing feelings for Michael, one of the other students in the A+ group (Gaten Matarazzo).
The Director of the Honor Society, The Crew, and More
Oran Zegman, a filmmaker whose previous work includes the award-winning short “Marriage Material,” is making his debut as a feature picture director with the release of “Honor Society.”
The script was written by David A. Goodman, who has previously contributed to more mature television programs such as “Family Guy” and “The Orville.” One of Goodman's most well-known and well-loved cult productions is the Hex Girls-starring direct-to-video film “Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost,” which may be familiar to kids who grew up in the 1990s.
Syrinthia Studer, Ron French, Fred D. Lee, and Don Dunn serve as executive producers for this motion picture. In addition, Michael Lewen is producing the project. The film was produced by Awesomeness Films, which is responsible for other excellent movies and television shows geared toward young adults, such as “To All the Boys I've Loved Before,” “Spontaneous,” and “PEN15.”
