In the series, Gloria is trying to fix things and start a new part of her life, but her past is finally catching up with her present. The show first came out on Netflix on October 14, 2022. Has Netflix Picked Up the Spanish Drama Holy Family for a Second Season?

The Spanish drama Holy Family (Sagrada Familia) ended with a thrilling cliffhanger: Gloria, Aitana, Abel, Natalie, and Baby Nico were all crammed into a car. The dysfunctional family is finally brought back together in a crazy way that no one planned.

Also, German and Catarina, a hitman/mercenary couple, crashed their cars into each other, which ended their mission. The show's ending makes it easy to imagine a second season and gives hints that it might be renewed. But neither the show's creators nor the streaming giant have said that for sure.

So, the thriller is still in deep water as far as its future goes. What Will Happen in Season 2 of Holy Family?

At the end of the first season, we can tell that the story will start right away with the dysfunctional family getting back together. Where Gloria won't let go of Nico, and she might get into a fight with Natalie.

But since Natalie never told her very religious father about Aitana's picture, we can also assume that they have made some kind of deal to calm things down. There is also a chance that German will live through the accident and start to help Abel. So, Abel became the one who made decisions for the family.

Also, the dynamics of the relationships will change in season 2 of the show. After the end of season one, Gloria's relationship with her teenage children was already ruined. This means that their original plan to run away and live in Canada won't work, and they'll have to come up with a different plan that should work for everyone.

Najwa Nimri plays Gloria, Laura Laprida plays Natalia, Gemma Sole plays Educadora, Jose Emilio Vera plays Padre Parking, Patricia Garo plays Ginecologa Marta Cobos, Pol Hermoso plays Felipe, Alba Flores, Carla Campra, and Ella Kweku also play roles in the show. Also, there are eight episodes, and each one is about 35 minutes long.

Recap of Holy Family Season 1

Holy Family, formerly known as Sagrada Familia, is about a dysfunctional family in which a single mother must care for her family of vivacious adolescent children. Gloria is a single mother with an arcane secret history who lives in Madrid with her young son Hugo and au pair Aitana.

Gloria has become acquainted with two women who live in the same neighborhood, Blanca and Alicia. But when it comes to reality, Gloria is a secretive woman who keeps things about herself and her family hidden from her so-called friends.

When we investigate deeper, we discover that even her identification is a forgery, Gloria's real name is Julia, and Aitana is her daughter. Gloria aka Julia, in addition to her young son and Aitana, has another son named Abel who lives with them but is kept in the basement.

Abel is staying in the basement because her young son Hugo is not truly her kid. There are twists and turns. Julie acted as a surrogate mother for both her son and her daughter-in-law.

So Natalia and her father were meant to leave with Hugo, but Gloria couldn't handle the thought of leaving Hugo even though she had given birth to him. They kidnap Hugo and even fake their deaths with her vivacious and skilled teenage children to turn over a fresh leaf.

When her family takes desperate efforts to start again, she moves to a new area and meets and befriends Blanca and Alicia. But following a series of circumstances, when Natalia sees Aitana's picture in a magazine, she discovers it's her sister-in-law and begins to delve further and deeper.

Nobody knew about surrogacy until things got out of hand. Gloria's strong attachment to Hugo has driven her to flee everywhere and live under various names.
