The Plot and History of High School of the Dead
Highschool of the Dead is based on the manga of the same name by Daisuke and Shoji Sato, which ran from 2006 to 2013. Yen Press was in charge of the English translation. Finally, the last chapter of the manga came out in April of 2013. The last episode of Season 1 aired on September 20, 2010. Afterward, the OVA “Drifters of the Dead” came out on Blu-Ray on April 26, 2011. This means there are still three more manga volumes that need to be read. When does “High School of the Dead” come out?
Because there isn't much hope for a second season of “High School of the Dead,” Daisuke Sato, the original creator of the show, died in 2017. In the second speed bump, it's just how long it's been since the show was first on. The original show ended 10 years ago. They still hope for a better future, just like the survivors of “HSotD,” who still have hope for a better future, too. With some source material left to work with, it's possible that someone could decide to bring it back.
