Is Heartstopper Child Friendly?
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman is a novel that is appropriate for children aged 12 and up. Heartstopper, written by Alice Oseman, is a love story in the style of a comic book about two boys who fall in love.
Because of the graphic format, this is a really nice love story that is quick and easy to read. This was an excellent read for me. I was so taken with it that I gave it to my 13-year-old daughter to read.
It provided an opportunity for some casual conversations about same-sex relationships, sexual attraction, love, friendships, bullying, stereotypes, and a variety of other topics. The second book of the novel has already been ordered from our local library so that we can find out what happens next!
This is an excellent book for your tween or adolescent to read since it will spark discussions about love, sex, and relationships with them.
