Some inmates say they robbed people with guns, while another says she got into an argument with an Uber driver and stabbed him in the neck, killing him. So, that's how she got here. Catherine Tate wanted to show the women in a good light and show that they were in prison for non-violent crimes.
However, an inmate told the truth, and the movie ended up showing the opposite of what she wanted to show. Catherine sees an opportunity to change how women's prisons are run. She suggests using creativity to make it a place where women can heal and get better.
She puts on a musical inside the prison so that the women can show off their talent and creativity and feel better about themselves. The show also shows how the people who work inside the prison feel about their jobs and how they talk to the prisoners. People have a lot of false ideas about prisons and prisoners, which the series tries to change.
