Even though you're probably still reeling from the news that Grimes and Elon Musk had a baby and then broke up (again), you should get ready for the next unexpected turn in the singer's life. The singer is reportedly living with whistleblower Chelsea Manning after they were linked on Page Six.
They're really starting to take this seriously now. According to Page Six, a source said, “They U-Hauled it;” that is, Grimes and Chelsea's relationship moved very quickly. They've been a couple for some time now and have made Austin their home.
Fans of Grimes who have been following her on Twitter for a while, such as this exchange from December, may not be too surprised by the news of her budding romance with Chelsea.
Chelsea Manning is an activist, whistleblower, and former U.S. Army soldier who was sentenced to 35 years in prison in 2013 for leaking thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks in 2010. In 2017, she received a commutation that reduced her sentence significantly (although she spent most of the year between March 2019 and March 2020 in jail again for refusing to testify to two different grand juries investigating WikiLeaks).
The Page Six source also confirmed that Chelsea will not be leaving her Brooklyn apartment, despite rumors to the contrary spread via U-Hauls and Twitter (at least for the time being). And just so you know, when the media outlet asked for comment, representatives on both sides of the issue declined to comment.
In a tweet posted on March 10, Grimes addressed the current state of her relationship with Elon: “I and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article, haha, but he's my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story really well. Sique, and have a nice day.

As for the article Grimes was referencing, it was the April 2022 cover story of Vanity Fair, in which she called Elon her “boyfriend” despite the fact that “there's no real word” for their bond.
We're very adaptable. The two of us are in different residences. We get along great. We're constantly in each other's company… She continued, “We just have our own thing going on, and I don't expect other people to understand it,” before revealing that they hope to expand their family with more children in the future. Three or four has always been the minimum we've aimed for.
Given all of this, we'll just have to assume that she has something going on with Grimes and Chelsea that can't be summed up by any of the existing labels and wait for her to describe it.
