Ke Huy Quan won the 2023 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his work in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. This was the first time the actor had been nominated for or won a Golden Globe.
I was taught from an early age to always be grateful to the people who helped me get started in life. That Steven Spielberg being here tonight is icing on the cake. Quan responded, “Steven, thank you,” during his winning speech.
He went on to describe how fortunate he felt to get his start in the film industry in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom as a child actor.
As I got older, I wondered if that was it if that was simply luck,” he continued. For a long time, I worried that there was nothing left to give. There was no way for me to improve upon my childhood accomplishments.
Quan went on to express his gratitude to Everything, Everywhere, All at Once's Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheiner for providing him with the solution he had been seeking. After more than three decades, two men remembered me.
He said between gritted teeth, “They remembered that youngster, and they offered me a chance to try again. As a result, “everything that's transpired afterward has been unbelievable.”
The actor has been quite appreciative of the film's producers, crew, and co-stars, as well as The Hollywood Foreign Press Association. At the end of his remarks, he expressed his gratitude to his wife, whom he called “the most important person in [his] life.”

The actor said backstage that the film's message has intrigued him for a long time, making the role a dream come true. “It's not only a beautiful movie, but it's also a great message,” he said. It means the world to me that our film is about love, generosity, empathy, and acceptance.
I can't express how appreciative I am that people liked our film. With a record-breaking A24 budget, Quan plays Waymond Wang, the husband of laundry owner Evelyn Wang. Evelyn, a Chinese American immigrant, is the protagonist of this action comedy about an Internal Revenue Service audit.
However, she soon learns that in order to prevent a strong being from annihilating all worlds, she must establish contact with alternate realities where she exists. Quan claims that things in his life have shifted for the better since the film came out.
One of his most memorable moments during his comeback was “seeing the fans in person & hearing them talk about our movie & how profoundly it resonated with them,” he said. Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan, Brad Pitt & Eddie Redmayne were all nominated for the award.
In 2023, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once was nominated for 6 Golden Globes. Backstage at the Golden Globes, Quan expressed excitement about her future career plans, saying, “I really want to perform all types of characters that were not available to me when I was much, much younger.”
There has been a significant increase in development recently. And there are clearly Asian Americans present. In response to a backstage question on the possibility of a Goonies sequel, the actor remarked, “We had multiple draughts, but there was not one story that thought it could live up to what the original was.
The ship's captain, a man I greatly admire and respect, Dick Donner, has passed away. I have no idea if a Goonies sequel is in the works. On Tuesday night, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Jerrod Carmichael presided over the 80th annual ceremony.
