Following an increase in new cases of the Delta variant of Covid-19, Garth Brooks was forced to cancel his 2021 Stadium Tour, which took place in August of this year. The singer-songwriter announced on Tuesday that he will resume the tour in 2022, beginning with a stadium performance in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Brooks will take on the University of Arkansas Razorbacks at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, which has a capacity of 76,000 people, on Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m. Additionally, according to a press release, it will be Brooks' only appearance in Arkansas and Oklahoma in 2022. Sales begin at 10 a.m. CT on Friday, December 3, with buyers assuming Covid risk and agreeing to the venue's Covid rules when they purchase their tickets.
Immediately following his final Stadium Tour date in Nebraska, Brooks announced that he would be canceling the remaining five dates on the tour schedule. At the time, Brooks stated that “watching this new wave has made me realize that we are still in the fight and that I must do my part.”
Brooks has been playing smaller venues in recent years in order to ensure that better safety measures can be implemented. He performed solo acoustic shows at the Grand Ole Opry House and the Ryman Auditorium on the 18th, 19th, and 20th of November in Nashville, Tennessee.
