Martin McDonagh is a British-Irish playwright and filmmaker. McDonagh was born on 26 March 1970 in Camberwell, London, to Irish parents.
After winning an Academy Award for his first and the best live-action short film, “Six Shooter,” in 2004. McDonagh went on to write and direct four modern classics, including “In Bruges” (2008), “Seven Psychopaths” (2012), “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” (2017), and “The Banshees of Inisherin” (2018). THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN is set on a remote island of the west coast of Ireland and follows great friends, Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who come to a disagreement when Colm suddenly ends their friendship. A aPadraic attempts to rectify the relationship with the help of his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) and confused young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), and refusing to accept no for an answer. However, Padraic's repeated efforts only serve to strengthen his former friend's resolve, and when Colm delivers a frustrated offer, events lead to violence, with shocking results.

When her daughter's murderer is still unidentified months later, an extremely angry Mildred Hayes rents three billboards on the outskirts of her town, Ebbing. The message on the bulletin board calls into question the reputed chief of police, William Willoughby, much to the chagrin of everyone in the room, particularly Officer Jason Dixon. Mildred becomes involved in a conflict with the authorities as she maintains her stance.
Marty Faranan, a struggling writer who is the focus of the dark comedy. When his two best friends Billy and Hans kidnap violent gangster Charlie Costello's pet Shih Tzu, things turn violent. Marty's eventual experiences not only provide the plot for his screenplay Seven Psychopaths, but also leave him a changed man.
