Show Performances

The tragic events and emotionally distraught characters in “Firefly Lane” are congruent with the film's intended tone. The ensemble features a number of talented performers who all give excellent performances.

Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 1 Review

Sarah Chalke does an amazing job of carving out both the happy and sad expressions of her subjects. And Katherine Heigl, who plays her leading lady, is just as fantastic.

Although the events in the alternate timelines may seem inconsequential at times, “Firefly Lane” excels at presenting its plot in a non-linear chronological order.

The effort put into authenticating the timeframes in multiple ways, including with period-appropriate features and objects in the backdrop, is really appreciated.

It can be exhausting to keep up with the series' relentless stream of tragic occurrences, and the show's nine-hour-long episodes make it difficult to steer through the drama and range of feelings presented.

The addition of Lottie's character serves barely any purpose. If Kate's character had been used with greater care and commitment, she could have had more chances to assert herself and fight back against her passive-aggressive tendencies.

Season 2 episode 1 of “Firefly Lane” is a worthy sequel to the first season and a strong springboard into the show's future heartbreaking drama.
