Fire Emblem Warriors is a video game that is a spinoff of the main Fire Emblem series. It is specifically a spinoff of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and it is titled Three Hopes. However, instead of the tactical, turn-based JRPG gameplay found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Warriors series developed by Koei Tecmo employs hack-and-slash combat, similar to how Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was a spin-off from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Fighting hordes of enemies while portraying various characters from a single series is what warrior games are all about. In comparison to the mainline Fire Emblem games, these titles are more about mashing buttons while employing unique character skills than they are about the plot. They're typically more action-oriented and don't necessitate nearly as much strategic thinking.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes — What's the plot?
Currently, we don't know much about the upcoming Nintendo Switch game, but we do know that players will “revisit a war-torn Fódlan” which is the land in which the events of Three Houses occurred. Throughout the course of the story, players will be required to use Edelgard's axe, Dimitri's lance, and Claude's bow in order to combat massive hordes of enemies and monsters.

In terms of the time period, the main characters appear to be still in their adolescent years rather than their adult selves. However, they are dressed in clothes and have hairstyles that are different from those they wore when they were younger in Three Houses.
