Far from Home Plot Synopsis
Ishaya was born poor. He wants to study with Essien, a prominent London artist. He saves enough to fly to London & become Essien's apprentice. After Rahila's birthday, he sees a Wilmer School scholarship advertisement. Ishaya works 2–3 jobs per day to save for her single vacation. He is furious since his family spent all his money on his father's medical bills. Ishaya now wants to travel more. He overhears a father bragging to his son Denrele that he has the Wilmer entrance exam answer key & a $10K scholarship at one of Patricia's wealthy clients' homes.
Ishaya picks up the solution key Denrele, who thinks he can get in on his own, throws out & quickly comes up with a plan: he will achieve a perfect score on the test, win the scholarship & use the $10K to travel to London. He breaks into another boss's “money cage” & steals. The government owns the club. Ishaya takes the risk despite seeing Government & his right-hand man, Oga Rambo, murder someone for “getting high on our supplies” & giving the body to a ravenous hyena. Adufe, Ishaya's ex, leaves him for Oga Rambo because she's humiliated by his plan to travel to London without telling her.
Ishaya becomes forced to help Adufe kidnap Frank, her close friend & classmate. Adufe hopes to make up for her molly stock loss this way. Adufe makes another move when she realizes that Ishaya is close to Carmen, the popular girl at school. Retaliating, she'll kidnap Carmen. After a fight, Ishaya tells the school about Oga Ramon & Mr. Government. Mr. Government is cornered after a plan to capture them. Oga Ramon curses & tries to kill Ishaya. Adufe defeats Ramon with Baido's help. “Far from Home” ends with Ishaya's father evicting him for his misbehavior.

Far from Home Cast Performance
Peter Parker is still mourning the death of Tony Stark 8 months after the events of Endgame. On an organized school vacation to Europe, Parker intends to finally tell MJ how he feels about her while also avoiding any heroics on his part. However, his goals change when Nick Fury tracks him down & realizes he needs him to combat extradimensional dangers involving elements. While fighting the beasts across Europe with another new hero hired by Fury, the master of illusions Mysterio, Parker begins to suspect that there may be more to the story than meets the eye.
The likable characters are what make this story so entertaining. Holland nails the effortless cool of adolescence & the heroic integrity that make Spider-Man such a delight to watch. Without Downey Jr. to compete with, he gets to play off L. Jackson's Fury & Gyllenhaal's cool mentor-esque hero. He gets many opportunities to act manically & hammily throughout the film & it's great fun to watch him savor every minute of it. Meanwhile, Zendaya's MJ is significantly less caustic this time around, which makes her interactions with Holland all the more endearing. Far From Home may be flawed in other ways, but the romance is excellent.

Far from Home Review in Detail
The film's main flaw is exemplified by a sequence near the end of the second act that will be shocking to anyone who has never read a Spider-Man comic before. The character drama is excellent, but the superhero parts don't measure up; the villain isn't really menacing & it's clear that the filmmakers were inspired by Michael Keaton's Vulture in Homecoming. With so much going on in the picture, the superhero components suffer.
There are additional indications that relate to the problem of fake news, but these are never elaborated upon sufficiently to serve as a compelling plot point in and of itself. The individual parts that make up Far From Home all function satisfactorily, however. Michael Giacchino reprises his role as composer, this time enhancing the heroic scope of his Spider-Man theme & adding a synth tune that works wonderfully for Mysterio.
Despite Jacob Batalan's diminished role as Peter's best friend Ned Leeds, the film is nonetheless quite funny & succeeds, to some extent, in foreshadowing the future of the MCU. It also looks quite scenic, despite the fact that it suffers from the Marvel problem of overusing & occasionally clumsy CGI effects.
The excellent ensemble cast helps make Spider-Man: Far From Home a delightful & entertaining film. If you give it too much thought, you may find that the picture fails as a superhero movie or even as an attempt to define its own emphasis. It features the best & worst of the MCU, with the best being the characters & their heart & the worst being generic CGI villainy & a rather muddled story.
