"Exoprimal," a Squad-based Dinosaur Combat Game From Capcom Will Be Released in 2023!

Exoprimal is a new multiplayer game from Capcom that was just announced at the PlayStation State of Play event. The game is centered around dinosaurs and will be released in 2019.

Featuring its video picturing clashes against huge dinosaurs in an abandoned modern city, the game is a squad-based multiplayer title with a cooperative mode.

Characters are outfitted with exoskeletons, which is understandable because they must have a chance against the terrifying animals they are up against.

In a lengthy essay on the PlayStation blog, Kellen Haney, Capcom's social media associate manager, shares his thoughts on the state of the industry.

“The year is 2043,” the text says. For unknown reasons, weird vortexes have been opening up over the globe, releasing swarms of dinosaurs upon the modern world.”

In response, we are treated to an “adrenaline-fueled battle for survival between the valiant Exofighters of the near future and ferocious creatures from the distant past.” So far, everything seems quite post-apocalyptic.

Exoprimal Gameplay

The game is “focused on multiplayer co-op gameplay, with each Exosuit playing a clearly defined role,” allowing players to swap and change their roles as they see fit throughout the game.

For example, the Roadblock Exosuit is constructed like a tank and is equipped with a shield that can withstand hundreds of raptors.

Using Capcom's “pedigree of exhilarating action games” as a point of reference, the post suggests that gamers will “enjoy the sensation of being an Exofighter.” Players will also be able to switch between different Exosuits at any time, allowing them to adapt their strategies on the fly.

In addition, the Capcom blog provided some additional insight into what else might be in store. Dino Survival is the game's main mode, in which players compete against an opposing group to accomplish dynamic objectives in order to win.

As a result, players should be exposed to a variety of gameplay scenarios, such as “tearing through dinosaurs” or “transporting cargo or protecting a critical point.”
