The story of the anime is set in a modern, civilized world of animals. They are divided culturally into carnivores and herbivores. The protagonist of the manga, Legoshi, is a huge grey-coloured wolf and is a quiet and fearful student of Cherryton Academy. He lives in a boarding house along with his other carnivorous schoolmates. Labrador Jack is his friend. He is also a member of the school drama club, working as a stagehand. Star pupil Louis, a red deer, handles the club, whereas Legoshi provides support to the actors.

One day, Tem, the alpaca, gets killed harshly at night, after which tension and distrust increase between herbivore and carnivore students. Meanwhile, Legoshi develops feelings for a small dwarf rabbit, Haru, who loves Louis.

In episode 11, Legoshi eats an alive caterpillar to grow his fur back. To hide his identity, he transforms himself into a woman to go to the Black Market. He went there to inform Louis of his duel. On the other hand, Riz finds his way to meet Legoshi but unable to do so as he gets interrupted by Pina. Pina persuades him to confess about the murder of Tem, but he clearly understands the plot and doesn't answer anything. He shows a bloodstained shirt and hands to provoke Legoshi just before the clash. Meanwhile, Louis is decided to eliminate Shishigumi to support Legoshi out, but Ibuki doesn't permit him to go.
