The series follows the professors and students at the fictional Whitlock High School in their daily lives. Mike O'Brien is the show's creator and a regular writer. Along with Seth Meyers, Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer, and Michael Shoemaker, Mike is an executive producer on the show. Although it is set in Toledo, Ohio, the majority of the film is shot in Los Angeles, California.

Glenn Howerton's character, Jack Griffin, is at the centre of the series. Griffin is a philosophy professor who, after being fired from his Harvard job, returns to his hometown and resumes teaching Advanced Placement Biology while looking for ways to leave. Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique, Paula Pell, and Patton Oswalt are among the cast members of A.P. Bio.

What is the A.P. Bio Series All About?

When disgraced Harvard philosophy professor Jack Griffin (Glenn Howerton) loses his dream job to Miles Leonard (Tom Bennett), he is forced to return to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, to teach advanced placement biology at Whitlock High School and live in his late mother's house. He informs his students that he will not be teaching them biology. He resolves to use his honor-roll pupils to exact revenge on Miles after realising he has a room full of them at his disposal. Principal Durbin (Patton Oswalt), eager to prove that he is still king of the castle, battles to keep Jack under control. In the second season, Jack enlists the help of his students to learn about the people of Toledo.

The Making Story of A.P. Bio Series

Mike O'Brien conceived the show for NBC, and it will premiere during the 2017–18 television season. The pilot was officially ordered by NBC on January 23, 2017. On May 11, 2017, the series was given the green light. The series will launch on February 1, 2018 at 8:30 p.m., as previously stated.
The sitcom was revived for a second season by NBC on May 8, 2018, and it premiered on March 7, 2019. After two seasons, NBC decided to terminate the sitcom on May 24, 2019.  In July 2019, NBC overturned its decision and renewed the show for a third season, which will air on September 3, 2020, on NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock. Peacock announced on December 17, 2020 that the series will be renewed for a fourth season, which would begin on December 17, 2021.

The Casting Story and The Cast

Mary Sohn and Lyric Lewis were announced as part of the primary cast of the pilot in February 2017. Aparna Brielle, Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt, Nick Peine, and Jacob McCarthy were announced to have joined the cast in their primary roles in March 2017. On June 12, 2017, it was revealed that Tom Bennett would be joining the show as a series regular. On August 1, 2017, it was announced that Jean Villepique will be joining the team as a series regulateur.

Glenn Howerton as Dr. Jack Griffin

He is an actor, producer, screenwriter, and director from the United States. He is best known for his role as Dennis Reynolds in the television series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for which he also serves as a writer and executive producer. Glenn Franklin Howerton III, the son of American parents Janice and Glenn Franklin Howerton Jr., was born in Japan.

His father served in the military as a jet pilot. His family went to Arizona and then New Mexico for a brief time shortly after his birth. They moved to Felixstowe, Suffolk, England, when he was three years old.

Collette Wolfe as Meredith

is an actress from the United States. Her film roles have made her famous. Wolfe was born and raised in Virginia, where she was the 1997 Queen of the King George Fall Festival Pageant. She attended Virginia Tech after graduating from King George High School. Wolfe has been in a long-term relationship with writer-director Jody Hill, in whose films Observe and Report and The Foot Fist Way she appears, since at least 2009. They married in Cabo San Lucas in 2012, however they have since divorced.

Aparna Brielle as Sarika Sarkar

Arm was born in Glendale, California, on April 25, 1996, to Steve and Anji Arm. Her mother Anji is Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick's paternal half-sister, making him Arm and her younger sister Josie's half-uncle. Her parents noticed her interest in theatre after witnessing a number of performances in the Los Angeles area and enrolled her in acting school when she was four and a half years old.

Allisyn Ashley Arm as Heather Wilmore

She is best recognised for her main role as Zora Lancaster on Sonny with a Chance and its spin-off So Random!, as well as Heather Wilmore on NBC's A.P. Bio. Arm's first acting assignment was for a Bounty commercial that was never broadcast. She went on to star in over 60 commercials before making her debut television appearance in May 2002 on the medical drama Strong Medicine.
