The Mexican actor, who played rebel agent Cassian Andor in the 2016 film Rogue One, will don the blaster holster in the upcoming prequel series on Disney+. Cassian Andor gave his life to help destroy the planet-killing Death Star.

Before the show's debut the following month, Luna spoke with us and revealed that he had previously wondered about his character's background in the far-off galaxy.

While filming Rogue One, he recalled, “I remember living every day as if it was the last.”

“I mean, I never considered myself a part of this cosmos. Also, I was only a fan until I received a call one day. I shared it with my children and witnessed it, even though I had anticipated it being a one-time event in my life. I was prepared to continue.

“When I was later asked to come back for the performance, it made perfect sense. With this job, I could have said and done so much more. I wanted to explore many ideas that came to mind while filming, but that a movie would never let you explore.

Despite the event's name, Luna was also keen to stress that Andor gives a lot of spacemen and women a chance to show off their skills.

“Despite its name, Andor, the story is about a revolution. It is a group. It concerns a group of individuals. Community is vital, he said.

You'll see many characters you don't know and go to areas in the galaxy you didn't know existed.

Mon Mothma, played by Genevieve O'Reilly, is one such face.
